Setting: Train Station in Japan
Going from a rural part of Japan to Tokyo
Time period: Now
Reason for Travel: Transfering from Rural to City.
Travelers may include Students going from high school to college, businessman getting a job in Tokyo, Wife moving in with husband, etc.
Thesis: Finding a life for yourself in the city where you can start over with nothing from the past holding you back.
Why did I choose this? I am originally from Japan and would like to look further into Japanese culture. It interested me and thought this might be a great place to get started.

I think this is a very original idea but you need to talk more about how it relates to the Canterbury tales. You can talk about how the train station holds lots of different people and how that relates to the story. And you can talk about your audio choice also.
ReplyDeleteYea, I was wondering how you going to incorporate the Tokyo scenery to the Canterbury Tales. I like the idea that people get on the train with completely different backgrounds and reasons for traveling, yet they all the same idea of where they want to go. The thesis is well written, but I feel like it should relate symmetrically with the Prologue. It's a good thesis but doesn't quite exemplify the idea of the General Prologue. The reason you chose the location was a good addition because it showed us that you took the time to think about your setting and explore a whole different outlook about your heritage. The audio explanation was left out as well and I would like to know what song it is and why you chose to include it in the slideshow.
